Kearney & Company is seeking a Budget Consultant to join our team at 11th Wing (AFDW) Bolling AFB supporting the Air Force! Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a budget analyst in the installation's budget office, performing a variety of budget functions involving the formulation, execution, and/or analysis of budgets and economic and cost analysis studies for substantive programs and support activities.
  • Support the development of programming and financial planning justification and documentation for inclusion into the wing financial plan.
  • Perform budget formulation involving the preparation of detailed analyses of annual and/or multi-year budget estimates for assigned organizations/programs into a consolidated budget request.
  • Perform budget execution and administration work involving the monitoring of obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of a budget with different sources and types of funding
  • Provide advice, assistance, and guidance on budgeting and related information
  • Conduct analyses, reviews, and special studies of budget and/or related information
  • Use automated budgetary system(s) and computer-generated products in accomplishing budgeting assignments

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university (6 years' work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Associates Degree PLUS 4 years' work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's Degree).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience leading DOD resource management and budget actions (e.g. POM development, MIPR execution, etc.) and executing organizational change management practices
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
  • Willing to work on-site 5 days per week
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an interim U.S. Secret security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Air Force resource management and budget preferred
  • Experience with Air Force Financial Systems or other Federal agency
