EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our offices in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and test electrical systems including defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
- Use test instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, and voltmeter.
- Complete daily maintenance checks and work assignments which may include but not limited to: installation of motors, transformers, lighting fixtures, cable trays and complete circuits according to diagram specifications and Blueprints.
- Additional duties may include general building maintenance.
- Complete work in a craftsmen-like manner in within local building and NEC codes as well as company specifications
- May require some nights, weekends and Holidays.
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Journeyman electrical license in state you are employed
- 2 years Commercial and /or industrial experience
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, crawl, and climb ladders to heights of up to 20 feet for extended periods.
- Work with hands and arms above their head for an extended period of time.
- Ability to work in all-weather environments: extreme heat, extreme cold, snow, rain, noise, hazards and atmospheric conditions (fumes, odor, dust, mist or poor ventilations) indoors, and outdoors
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good conduit bending skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using computer.
- Ability to work independently and apply common sense understanding to complete detailed written or oral instructions.
