JOB TITLE:
Nurse, Registered - Albany Community Health Clinic
JOB PURPOSE:
Assess patient's needs; provide nursing care and health education services for patients in the infirmary or other designated facilities.
This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming's Employee Handbook. Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closure based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate's degree in Nursing
Experience: 2 years work-related experience
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
* Nursing and case management and practice to include clinical operations (i.e.- scheduling, procedures, in office testing, patient screenings)
* Patient evaluation and triage in person and via telehealth services
* Community health services and social services support agencies and networks.
* Medical documentation requirements.
* Communication and training methods and techniques.
* Applicable OSHA health, environment, and safety, University, federal, and state laws, rules and regulations.
* Nursing licensure requirements
* FQHC patient population and unique needs
* Management of both physical and mental health conditions
Skills and Abilities to:
* Observe and triage patient needs.
* Initiate medical treatment under medical supervision and standing orders.
* Effectively communicate technical medical information in an understandable format for patient care.
* Execute procedures as ordered/directed
* Safely operate various medical equipment according to established standards.
* Sterilize supplies and equipment; maintain and restock rooms.
* Work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Provides patients with both general and focused health education regarding preventive, chronic, and acute health care issues to fully support an integrative health care model
- Administer medications, including vaccines, per ordered route
- Ensure safe, accurate, clinically appropriate collection, storage, and processing of all biologic specimens
- Work to the top of licensure to enhance the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of high quality care
