Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Security Specialist to support Integrated Fires Mission Command. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Assist with security clearance processes and investigations.
• Conduct security inspections and audits.
• Coordinate with external agencies on security matters.
• Manage access control systems.
• Conduct training on security protocols.
• Maintain security documentation and records.
• Collaborate on security strategies.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies.
• Perform administrative functions for security staff.
• Process incoming and outgoing personnel records.
• Administer Visit Authorization Requests.
• Provide support for personnel, information, and industrial security missions.

Required Experience:

• 10 years experience and MA/MS Degree.
• Must be familiar with Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) or Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Visitor Access Requests (VAR).
• Proficiency in using office automation tools like word processing and email systems.
• Experience with security clearance processes and investigations.
• Knowledge of access control systems and procedures.
• Familiarity with security documentation and record-keeping.
• Ability to coordinate with external agencies on security-related matters.
• Must be a US Citizen and have/be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working within a government or defense contractor environment.
• Certification in security-related fields such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Security+.
• Knowledge of government security regulations and policies.
• Experience with conducting security training sessions.
• Familiarity with security incident response procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
