Job Description

About the Role: We are seeking a Business Group Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will support our Specialty businesses. In this role, you will provide financial support for our Specialty businesses, including strategic planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis.

This position will be located at a US East facility (Elkton, Maryland or Newark, Delaware) with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial decision support to the Guitar Strings business team using analytics and business acumen
  • Lead the global annual and strategic planning and ongoing forecasting processes for the Guitar Strings business
  • Provide timely reporting and analysis, including variance analysis and commentary on business performance, executive report-outs, and other ad hoc requests from Business leadership
  • Monitor and guide key financial metrics for the Guitar Strings Business and actively identify opportunities for profitability improvement
  • Support the process for New Product Development project reviews across all Specialty Co Businesses, serve as the liaison to Innovation Review process leaders and contacts, collect required data, ensure correct templates and key deadlines are met, challenge model assumptions to ensure robust submissions
  • Support use of Gore Business Solutions tools across all Specialty Cos, partner with the GBS leader for Specialty Cos, track metrics, support development and use of templates
  • Engage with Performance Solutions and Corporate Finance Associates to understand, monitor, explain, and plan for costs being allocated for shared services

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or business-related discipline with a minimum 4 years of combined experience in a Financial / Business Analyst role
  • Prior finance and/or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience performing investment analysis, and preparing business case modeling, revenue modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with strategic planning, analysis, and various data systems and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge, influence and integrate across project, functional, and business leadership teams
  • Demonstrated skill in preparing and presenting regular financial updates to executive leadership
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple commitments
  • Strong Excel and database skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to work effectively in a global environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with SAP and/or working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system(s), US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and standard costing
  • Prior experience with new product development valuation
  • Prior experience with lean tools and supporting financial analysis
