The candidate for this Staff Accountant II opportunity must have the proven ability to research, reconcile and resolve complex balance sheet account reconciliation issues.

Critical success factors for candidates will include a highly collaborative work style, the ability to anticipate problems, proactively deal with difficult and complex situations and communicate appropriately with all levels of stakeholders. You must have strong organizational, problem-solving and closure skills, along with strong written and oral communication skills, and be able to demonstrated interpersonal skills with different stakeholders and levels of professionals and management.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this position consist of, but are not limited to the following:

    Responsible for the day to day reconciliation of bank accounts, following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standard operating procedures
  • Complete various daily transactions related to bank accounts, which may include processing ACH payments, placing stop payments, completing bank exceptions, etc.
  • Complete other account reconciliations as assigned
  • Work closely with both internal and external contacts to ensure proper internal recording
  • Understanding of multi-entity environment and financial reporting requirements, and foreign exchange transactions necessary
  • Support of audit request to include management support for various external and internal audits, to include planning, communication, tracking and review of selections and schedules assigned through management
  • Perform month end close activities, including journal entries and reporting
  • Responsible for various account reconciliations to support "should be" balance analysis through validation of account to internal management and external auditors
  • Provide necessary support for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance inquiries to include self-assessment
  • Flexible and ability to work with others in the department to coordinate information and other projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned and necessary to support management
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded background in accounting and be able to provide analysis and reconciliation skills to multiple types of accounts. Your ability to apply your technical accounting skills is essential to succeed in this position.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required plus 2-4 years of experience in an accounting related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze results to include presentation of findings and execution of change deemed necessary to promote improvement. You should be a critical thinker that is highly skeptical of account reconciliation support to ensure your conclusions are supported by the documentation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop SOP for role and responsibilities
  • Must be highly computer literate and able to learn new systems quickly. We utilize Oracle as our accounting system and Hyperion Essbase and HFM as analytical and reporting tools. The company will provide necessary training and support for this purpose. You will be expected to become highly proficient with our technology platforms.
  • Highly detailed person with account reconciliation skills. We utilize Blackline technology to record and approve account reconciliations. This person will be expected to become highly proficient using Blackline. The company will provide necessary training and support for this purpose.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong research, analytical and problem solving skills are required.
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team setting and a self-starter attitude is preferred.
  • Multi-facility, including international, manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to communicate with GES personnel globally.
  • Microsoft Office Suite working knowledge. You should be a highly proficient with MS Excel and Word and be able to create and use pivot tables on large amounts of data
  • Accountability mindset with ability to support mentoring role with others throughout our Shared Services Accounting Group.
  • Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), technically strong and confident with your accounting skills.
  • You must demonstrate behaviors consistent with our SSAG culture of integrity, winning as a team, being innovative in your approach and identify change that will have a favorable impact on our organization.
Work Environment
