Summary:

Under direction supervision; assist in the evaluation of patient status and provides basic bedside respiratory care (determined prior to hire in the organization - subject to change as skill levels increase.)

Under direction supervision; assist in the evaluation of patient status and provides basic bedside respiratory care (determined prior to hire in the organization - subject to change as skill levels increase). Displays abilities to perform specific procedures associated with respiratory therapy to the patient following a prescribed treatment plan by the physician and company policies and procedures. Performs patient/family education and maintains all necessary related documentation.

Must have basic understanding of respiratory disease processes. Demonstrated interest in professional growth and development; ability to accept scheduling/placement designations determined prior to hire in organization. Must have good customer relations skills and basic computer skills.

Located just minutes from the shores of Padre Island, CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Southprovides surgical and medical services for our patients in south Corpus Christi. Perfectly positioned to serve the rapidly-growing south side of Corpus Christi, CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - South is licensed for 158 beds. South offers a full range of medical and surgical services including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency, intensive care as well as advanced diagnostic and imaging. The hospital is also home to a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which enables recovering mothers to remain close to their premature or special needs babies.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current student enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • CPR (American Heart Association)
