Job Description

Fast-growing IT-services firm working with the Federal Government is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst in the metro D.C. area. This position will report to the Manager of Finance Planning and Analysis. The Sr. Financial Analyst will analyze past and present financial data, estimate future revenues and expenditures, and collect, monitor, and study financial data in order to recommend actions. This position will work closely with multiple teams and requires strong communication skills, analytical analysis skills, as well as an understanding of the federal procurement process. The Sr. Financial Analyst will be working in a dynamic environment with career advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of budgets, forecasts and supporting analysis
  • Manage monthly financial reporting efforts, including variance analysis to senior management
  • Lead analysis and strategy around the company's indirect rate structure
  • Assess program performance and track against budgets
  • Analyze complex financial reports and provide recommendations to management for strategic decisions
  • Implement and work with business intelligence tools and dashboard reports
  • Work closely with finance, other indirect support teams, and program delivery teams
  • Assess strategic initiatives and perform special projects for the Director of Finance and SVP of Finance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • 3+ years' experience in Program Finance, FP&A, or corporate / public accounting preferred
  • Strong experience in Excel modeling and Powerpoint required
  • Advanced understanding of US GAAP
  • Prior experience in government contracting, commercial consulting or public accounting preferred
  • Prior experience in Costpoint, Cognos, Salesforce
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think on one's feet
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Ability to work well with others as well as independently with limited supervision
