About the Position

Dexis seeks a junior-level Business Development Associate to join our Governance Practice. Primarily serving as proposal coordinator and as contributing non-technical writer, the successful candidate will perform additional BD functions, including networking and opportunity tracking. International travel may be required. The Business Development Associate will work in close collaboration with the Senior Director of Business Development. This position can be based remotely or out of Dexis Headquarters located in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

Proposal-Related Work (60%)

  • Serve as a bid/proposal coordinator, including managing calendars and deadlines; liaising with subcontractors and consultants; and facilitating meetings.
  • Identify and recruit consultants; draft and process consulting agreements; and review deliverables/timesheets.
  • Write and/or edit proposal sections, including personnel bio sketches, CVs, and branding and marking plans.
  • Format documents, including charts and diagrams.
  • Participate in in-country capture and/or organize capture team travel.
  • Collect and analyze pricing information.

BD Networking, Pipeline, and Related Functions (40%)

  • Develop and maintain a network of consultants and potential partners within the Governance sector.
  • Track relevant upcoming USG funding opportunities through publicly available sources and other resources.
  • Maintain the Governance Practice bid pipeline and keep stakeholders within Dexis updated about it.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in international relations, political science, history, or related field.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing/editing skills.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word (advanced document formatting) and Excel.
  • Demonstrated interest in international development work.
  • Required to submit a cover letter to express the level of interest for this job.
  • Short-listed candidates will be required to take a writing/editing test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French or Spanish.
  • Experience in business development and/or with international development companies/organizations (including internships).
