The Opto division is a leading global manufacturer delivering engineering design support and manufacturing capabilities. We utilize our world-class manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, UK, India, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia to deliver engineering solutions aligned with efficient manufacturing to meet high-volume production requirements.

The successful candidate will provide tremendous finance and business leadership to the Opto Group. This individual will be a trusted partner and advisor to the Group President, OSI CFO and OSI CAO and broader leadership team. H/She will help lead the development of the division's plan to drive growth and operating margin expansion. H/She will possess sound business judgement, demonstrate authenticity and transparency, strong presentation skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, global experience, strong accounting knowledge, strong FP&A abilities, M&A experience, understanding of SOX, ERP implementations and the ability to manage 360 degrees effectively. The individual will be self-motivated, collaborate with division finance and business leadership as well as corporate finance and seek continues improvement driving the business to attain results.


Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain excellent relationships throughout the organization and be able to influence decisions.
  • Lead the Opto finance organization by motivating and inspiring confidence in others. Recruit, coach and develop others to build a great team.
  • Lead Opto Group meetings with OSI CEO and CFO to review monthly and/or quarterly results (including balance sheet and cash flow) or other business matters. Address any questions or further analyses.
  • Work closely with Group Presidents, Finance and Operations personnel globally to understand business issues and their impact on the monthly, quarterly and annual Group results.
  • Drive the annual strategic planning and budget process.
  • Summarize monthly forecasts for the Opto Group assessing the forecasted results vs the previous forecast, prior year and annual plan.
  • Review daily sales for the month versus forecast and delve into any customer or supply chain issues. Address issues to ensure that the Group achieves targets. Communicate any significant issues to Corporate Finance when known.
  • Prepare monthly variance analyses comparing actual results vs forecasts. Explain variances and drill down to obtain explanations. Assure transparency in reviewing the results.
  • Work closely and collaborate with CFO and Chief Accounting Officer on finance and technical accounting matters, ensuring alignment with OSI Corporate Strategy
  • Visit operations around the world and obtain an understanding of each operation and the key pressure points.
  • Serve as the point person for all Opto acquisitions from the finance side and the business overall. Develop integration strategies and post-acquisition financial models and plans. Determine intangible and earn-out valuations with internal and external advisors, as required.
  • Drive measures and accountability to improve Free Cash Flow and working capital metrics
  • Lead division capital allocation priorities.
  • Sit on Steering Committees for ERP implementations.
  • Collaborate with counterparts in Security and Healthcare divisions on intercompany sales projections, transfer pricing, inventory management and other business matters to ensure optimal results for OSI Systems, Inc.
  • Direct the month-end close for the Opto Group to ensure OSI deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports, including monthly profit and loss forecast by department (vs. budget); sales forecasts; expense budgets; cost standards; savings opportunities; and capital investment. Provide analysis of financial results and develop recommendations (strategic and tactical).

Qualifications

  • BA Degree in Finance or related field required; MBA and/or CPA desired.
  • 15+ years of experience working as a senior financial leader.
  • Experience working in a senior financial management role, partnering with executive staff resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
  • Experience working with information technology staff managing finance and accounting systems.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills with internal and external customers.
