Role Overview (Scope of Role)

The Senior Transfer Pricing Analyst is a pivotal role within Trinseo's Tax team, charged with upholding the accuracy, compliance, and strategic execution of the company's transfer pricing operations. This position encompasses the production and analysis of essential reports, the management of transfer pricing documentation for a designated portfolio of legal entities, and the proactive investigation of financial variances.

As a custodian of the transfer pricing policy, the Senior Transfer Pricing Analyst will ensure that Trinseo's practices not only meet regulatory standards but also support the company's global financial strategy. This role demands a hands-on approach to developing innovative tracking and reporting methods, offering critical support during audits, and engaging in cross-functional collaborations. The Transfer Pricing Senior Analyst's contributions are vital in driving financial performance and maintaining Trinseo's reputation for financial excellence and integrity.

This will be a hybrid position based in Wayne, PA with a schedule of 1 day per week in office.

Responsibilities
    Run periodic reports on a strict schedule for all entities, identifying and scrutinizing any variances from expected standards. Investigate and articulate the reasons behind these deviations to facilitate informed decision-making. Key reports include Intercompany (I/C) commissions summaries, discount and commission rates, FIN48, and administrative cost charge-outs.
  • Organize and manage functional interviews, including preparation of materials, assisting in the interview process, and capturing outcomes. Synthesize information collected and integrate it into TP models.
  • Take on responsibility for a portfolio of legal entities within a major operating region, ensuring the collection of necessary data for the preparation of annual, fully compliant, and punctual transfer pricing documentation.
  • Monitor quarterly profitability for the same group of entities, presenting findings in standardized reports. Analyze and investigate any departures from benchmark rates and historical norms to provide clear explanations.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of Trinseo's operations, Trinseo's transfer pricing framework and policies, and the profit expectations for each entity.
  • Innovate and develop new methodologies for tracking and reporting on revised or newly established transfer pricing processes.
  • Provide support on TP audit defense
  • Undertake ad-hoc miscellaneous tasks to support other transfer pricing initiatives, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to a range of projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field; CPA is a plus
  • 5+ years of Corporate Accounting experience
  • 2+ years of Transfer Pricing experience
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Ideally familiar with Alteryx modelling
  • Ability add value to data with analytical interpretation and insights
  • Strong verbal and written concise communication skills
  • Adherence to formal due dates
