Job Description

Open Systems Infrastructure is a part of OneMain's Enterprise Infrastructure department. As a Systems Engineer you will be a member of the IT team responsible for all Intel-based infrastructure administration and support for both Data Center and Branch infrastructure. We provide the administration of (both physical and virtual platforms), operating systems, storage systems, and configuration, installation, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure systems.

You will primarily work with other administrators and analysts in the infrastructure department but will work with and support employees' company-wide to ensure that Open Systems Infrastructure is providing the systems, support, and administration required to meet the diverse needs of the entire organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrator of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and compatible systems in public and private Cloud environments.
  • CEPH architecture performance analysis, capacity planning and monitoring
  • Develop automation for infrastructure related tasks.
  • Communicate with business professionals at multiple levels across the organization.
  • Proactively monitor hardware platforms for potential performance and capacity concerns.
  • Apply preventative maintenance and upgrades on servers, storage, and virtual environments.
  • Communicate with key leadership and recommend changes or improvements.
  • Provide back-end support for new and existing infrastructure.
  • Monitor, maintain, and resolve support tickets, documenting all activities performed in ticket notes and resolution.
  • Document procedural runbooks and environments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of Linux Architecture experience.
  • Solid understanding of Linux (RedHat) and Wintel Server platforms
  • Solid understanding of CEPH storage solutions
  • Solid understanding of Ansible infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of Satellite
  • Working Knowledge of GitLab
  • Experience in system and software security and entitlements (SSO, Kerberos, LDAP, Windows AD).
  • Understanding of server systems, application processes, and networking technology.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours; some off-hours support is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or other IT-related field.
  • Redhat or similar industry certification(s).
