Job Description
Sentry has an entry-level opportunity to join their legal team as a Corporate Licensing Analyst at their home office in Stevens Point. This role will ensure regulatory compliance as associates move through necessary requirements to obtain and maintain licenses.

What You'll Do

This role will serve as a liaison between business units, system vendors and state DOI's through licensing, appointment, and termination processes. Coordinate systematic and manual workflows to maintain accurate data and analyze and comply with ever-changing state licensing requirements.

As a Corporate Licensing Analyst, you will:

  • Lead claims, sales and other associates whose role requires insurance licensing through the licensing process by providing guidance during the completion of state requirements, reviewing, and submitting applications, and handle follow-ups with internal and external contacts.
  • Provide guidance and monitor renewal statuses and communicate to associates accordingly, which may include ensuring associates are aware of pending requirements and deadlines.
  • Review and update the licensing system to maintain accurate and compliant records.
  • Complete license and appointment terminations which includes processing requests, handling investigations with state DOI and/or reviewing state action notices.
  • Complete timely processing and payment of company, producer and state appointment and renewal payments and ensure all fees are allocated to appropriate business units. Reconcile invoices with internal records to identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies to avoid unnecessary fees and/or fines.
  • Identify reporting errors and maintain awareness of changes to state and regulatory requirements, notifying the Licensing Specialist to resolve issues and update systems and procedures to ensure the organization maintains accurate data.
  • Troubleshoot licensing and appointing issues and/or questions with business leads and state DOS's.
  • Establish and maintain integrated compliance to ensure adherence to state regulation, monitor regulator activities and complete necessary filings.

Additionally, you will:

  • Assist Licensing Supervisor in developing and maintaining licensing procedures, state requirement charts and business unit job aids to ensure all materials are accurate.
  • Complete FINRA registration renewals, terminations and process initial securities licensing as a back up to the Licensing Specialist.
  • Participate in various ad hoc projects intended to address specific licensing and legal related needs/issues.
  • Participate in user testing to ensure systems are accurately retrieving data.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to management to address specific Licensing related needs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.

What it Takes

  • Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience
  • Communication, organizational and human relations skills
  • Proficient knowledge of PC software programs such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to learn PC software systems
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Basic insurance courses helpful
