Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Senior Organization Development (OD) Consultant to work in our Learning & Org Development department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility in Idaho Falls, Idaho with every other Friday off.

The Organization Development (OD) Professional provides strategic leadership and organization development tools to INL. The OD Professional assists in the development and application of leadership and organization development, decision-making and facilitation tools and techniques to support several priorities.

Responsibilities Include:
  • OD interventions, organizational assessments to determine dynamics, issues and needs of the enterprise or any of its sub-elements; apply concepts and techniques; determine specific program and customers' needs and expectations through assessments, surveys, and various other interactions, including interviews, facilitation of group meetings and discussions; develop and implement interventions using an appropriate graded approach and process to meet program and customers' needs; consult with management on organizational design; document the results of meetings and workshops including attendees, decisions, process, actions, and supporting information; and assist the enterprise and customer in developing and analyzing alternatives, resources and technologies to ensure requirements can be efficiently and sustainably met.
  • The OD Professional provides coaching to managers and staff at all levels; and must adroitly work with and advise senior enterprise management and leaders.
  • Improve organizational effectiveness through process improvements. Routinely work as a lead coordinating the activities of project teams or other staff.
  • Lead multiple tasks/projects, teams and major project tasks with increasing scope, risk and increasing competency.
  • Be a spokesman for the Learning and Organization Development organization and Human Resources and Diversity organization on major matters about policies, plans, goals, issues/barriers and represents us on projects and works with senior personnel on significant matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.
  • Provide technical direction and management to junior staff and enhance technical skills of junior staff through mentoring. Proactively identify plans and new project opportunities.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
  • PR0500 - Bachelors degree plus 12 years relevant experience or an MS and 8 years relevant experience.
  • Preference for this position is an advanced degree and relevant experience in research and development organizations, applying organization development, and facilitation approaches/methodologies.
  • PR0600 - Bachelors degree plus 16 years relevant experience or an MS and 12 years relevant experience. Preference for this position is an advanced degree and relevant experience in research and development organizations, applying organization development, and facilitation approaches/methodologies.
  • Relevant experience: -Experience in leadership organization development and facilitation tools and techniques such as organizational diagnosis, development methods, change management, intervention approaches, surveys, interviewing techniques, team building, and process improvement.-Experience facilitating or leading multidisciplinary, integrated teams is important.- Can work with management and technical personnel at all levels, and any DOE or other customers

Job Information:

  • Salary Grade 230 - ($124,368 - $211,596) 250 - ($164,616 - $279,816)
