General Responsibilities
Lead and manage all development processes as they relate to the database, including overseeing all third-party software, to support the HCC Educational Foundation and development office.
Work Performed
  • Manages all processes to populate and maintain pertinent information for all constituents in the foundation's donor and prospect pool using the appropriate database resources.
  • Strategizes and implements data segmentation for targeted solicitation of donors and prospects.
  • Assists in the execution of a cultivation plan as it relates to utilization of the database's major donor module, communication management module and associated database resources.
  • Analyzes data extractions for development staff; assists in researching and compiling information from databases necessary for fundraising purposes.
  • Coordinate campaign and solicitation marketing with PRM and assistant director of resource development.
  • Develop and implement specific daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual reporting processes.
  • Updates and maintains processes and procedures for reports.
  • Makes decisions and assists in problem solving regarding gift processing and scholarship and donor relations processes and procedures.
  • Manages and delegates responsibilities for gift processing functions to ensure continuous and timely documentation of gifts.
  • Manages website updates by collaborating with development staff and cross-functionally with colleagues from various departments.
  • Trains staff and develops procedures to ensure database processes are followed.
  • Responsible for third party software, including but not limited to Scholarship Universe and Constant Contact implementation, oversight and related change management.
  • Collaborates and meets regularly with the Administrative Information Systems department for ongoing database updates and projects.
  • Improves processes for utilizing Colleague Advancement, Business Objects, and Perceptive Content.
  • Prioritizes and leads database maintenance and updates for the development office.
  • Represents the development office at college-wide meetings pertaining to data and database functions.
  • Assists with and at fundraising events.
  • Edits and proofreads all correspondence and reports.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Required Associate's degree
Minimum Number of Years Experience Required 3
Other Knowledge Required
  • Three years of database management experience required, preferably using fundraising database tools.
  • Associates degree or equivalent credits from an accredited college or university
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite experience.
  • Knowledge of proofreading techniques.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Overtime/compensatory time may be required.
  • Ability to interact tactfully and deal effectively with others to provide accurate and timely documents.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a work group environment.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the development office conflict of interest policy.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and communication skills.
  • Regular attendance is a requirement of this job.
  • Performs all duties while considering the impact of any actions on the college's sustainability initiatives in the areas of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic prosperity.

As a participating member of the Maryland Retirement and Pension System, HCC offers two retirement options: The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The ORP.
