  • Create and maintain organizational documents

  • Design and art-direct for latimes.com and social channels as needed

Requirements:

  • At least seven years of professional experience including magazine design

  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates excellence in art-directing illustrations, typography and photography

  • Strong multitasking, organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Strong working knowledge of design software such as CCI Newsgate (CUE), InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to design for digital stories and social media

  • A history of designing and developing alternate story forms

  • Effective at working in a team environment

This full-time, temporary position is expected to last nine months and will be based in El Segundo, Calif.

Qualified candidates should submit a resume, cover letter and portfolio to Senior Deputy Design Director Faith Stafford at the apply link. Please note, the opportunity to attach additional documents appears on the third screen and is labeled "Upload."
