Summary

The Global Account Director will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of key global accounts in the Consumer and Retail industry. They will be accountable for driving revenue growth, Developing and executing account strategies and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Global Account Director will report to the Director, Americas Lead, Consumer vertical.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Cross sell throughout all three divisions in DSV, Air & sea/Road/Solutions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at assigned global accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and increase revenue within assigned accounts
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operational excellence and timely resolution of customer issues
  • Prepare and present business reviews and performance reports to clients and DSV management
  • Conduct regular account planning and review meetings with the team.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication, responsiveness, and issue resolution.
  • Leverage vertical knowledge, insights, and skills into account work.
  • Establish a strong collaboration with the account executives.
  • Commercial single point of contact for the account on a day-to-day basis.
  • Act as central escalation point for commercial, operational and contractual issues (including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Accounts Receivable (AR))
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges of importance to customer in collaboration with the divisions.
  • Coordinate with executive and operational teams across divisions and locations
  • Drive pipeline management incl. collection and maintenance of opportunities and awards (e.g., in CRM)

Educational background / Work experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is required
  • Master's degree in business or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales or account management in the transportation and logistics industry dealing with Consumer and Retail customers
  • Experience managing global accounts and developing account strategies is required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a multinational corporation is preferred.
  • Travel required, both domestically and some international

Language skills

  • Fluency in English is required
  • Proficiency in other languages is a plus

Computer Literacy

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. MSD/Salesforce) is preferred.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $115,000 - $172,000,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
