We are seeking qualified candidates for a Design Product Engineer position at our Corporate Office in Glen Allen, Va. Responsibilities include the ability to independently conduct research and testing, to standards published by UL, CSA, IEC, ASTM, etc. Perform testing to develop hypotheses and write technical reports. This position is fully on-site.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Methodical approach to problem-solving and failure analysis.
  • Nondestructive examination and analysis of returned products.
  • Development of hypotheses, and design of experiments to test hypotheses.
  • Work with other functional departments; to report the mode of material or product failure.
  • Reporting examination findings and the results of hypothesis testing.
  • Fundamental understanding of nondestructive failure analysis techniques
  • Possess the capability to comprehend and apply engineering and logical scientific reasoning principles to solve a wide range of problems.

Requirements of the position include:

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, EIT desired.
  • 3-5 years exp
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD; SolidWorks, Finite Element Analysis.
  • Hands-on laboratory capabilities
  • Desire to conduct research and gain knowledge of progressive failure analysis technology.
