Compensation $100-105k annually + bonus


Qualifications

  • Comfortable with significant travel requirements to vendor locations and in-house garages (Mid-Atlantic and South East)
  • High School Diploma required.
  • A minimum of 3 years in fleet maintenance and logistics and at least 3 years in supervision and/ or management.
  • Proficiency in PC Applications; word processing, presentations, logistics software and databases.
  • Must have familiarity with DOT regulations, governing the use of Commercial Vehicles, as well as strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of vehicle systems, components and design characteristics.
  • Must possess a Class A Driver License.
  • Must possess excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills, as well as have the ability to influence and make decisions by applying independent judgment.
  • Experience with the EAM Fleet Maintenance System is preferred.
  • Ability to meet Department of Transportation (DOT) driver qualification policy requirements.

Responsibilities

TheRegional Fleet Manager leads the Fleet operations in thedesignated geography by developing fleet capability, reliability and sustainability. This role is critical in driving performance and execution in the field (Key Business Metrics: COST: R&M, Short Ter. This position will own and drive - Vendor Management; Implementing AOP tactics in Repair & Maintenance along with DOT Regulations; Collaborate with Site Leadership to develop field level strategy; Execute an Asset Management plan across all sites within regions of responsibility; Drive Fuel Usage improvement programs; Provide best in class service to our customers. Additionally, this position ensures the region(s) and branches are in compliance with DOT, CSA Maintenance Scores and other state, local, or industry specific regulations and that periodic safety audits are conducted. Implements and coordinates compliance with programs and processes to assure Region operates in accordance with DOT and other transportation regulations and rules. Responsible to communicate safety processes and procedures to assure the safe operation of the company fleet of commercial motor vehicles and smaller vehicles not classified as commercial motor vehicles. These processes, programs and procedures apply to the management of vehicles and the associates who load, operate and maintain them.

  • Build strategies that reduce cost / increase efficiencies in R&M, short term rentals, reliability, fuel and safety to deliver productivity.
  • Develop supplier network and capability across the region. Negotiating rates and services provided
  • Track, analyze fleet metrics in support of OTIF and customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and analyzes fleet maintenance metrics (fuel cost, maintenance cost, short term rental cost, spare ratio, safety injuries and accidents, mechanic staffing levels and turnover).
  • Provide technical leadership to the field teams in providing direction on high-cost repairs.
  • Coordinates with the field locations to ensure vehicle licensing is documented and liquidation procedures are followed.
  • Ensures effective field maintenance of vehicles through implementation, administration, and management of the companies' fleet maintenance program.
  • Supports the field with fleet forecasting and planning.
  • Own performance of fleet accounts for designated regions
  • Develop and implements a fuel conservation plan to reduce fuel usage and improve overall MPG
  • Collaborate with field teams to educate and implement national fleet tactics
  • Implements and conducts assessments to the field locations to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Assesses safety training opportunities and partners with the sites to identify appropriate training content and to assist in determining appropriate delivery method.
  • Serves as the regions primary subject matter expert on fleet operations, safety and regulatory compliance and partners closely with field managers, human resources, and regional operations and transportation managers.
  • Implement processes that will lead to sustained performance improvements such as self-audits and cross region collaboration.
  • Implement and oversee fleet mechanic safety improvement initiatives. Execute leading indicators and accountability of region fleet shop(s) safety performance.
  • Ensure process for vehicle inspections and monitoring of pre-trip requirements. Schedule periodic ride along with drivers to monitor processes, coach as needed to improve pre and post trip effectiveness.
  • Responsible for monitoring maintenance safety and compliance violations. Monitors and reports on Maintenance Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) activity to include, daily roadside inspections and field acknowledgement of corrective action.
  • Ensure environmental compliance for fuel tanks, fluid storage, vehicle washing, fluid leaks etc.
