Main Duties & Responsibilities
Position Summary
A technical, hands-on position which sets
up and operates cold-heading machines to produce precision, quality components.
The Heading Operator is responsible for accurate record keeping, loading, efficiency,
and the safe execution of the process. Utilization of measurement tools for
inspection, conformance to engineering drawings and the minimization of scrap
are critical to this role.

- Follow all policies, procedures,
and work instructions in accordance with our Quality System.
- Effectively
operate heading equipment.
- Set
up heading equipment in an efficient manner using setup tools and
techniques.
- Provide
dimensionally compliant 1st off samples in a reasonable time.
- Coordinate
tooling requirements with lead hand and tool room team members.
- Load
and adjust all dies, punches, and transfer hardware into heading machine.
- Follow
production priorities.
- Ensure
high product quality and minimize scrap rates.
- Inspect
parts at the prescribed sampling rate.
- Support
continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide
accurate reporting as defined in the work instructions.
- Any
other reasonable duties as directed.
Qualifications
- Detail
oriented
- Proficiency
in reading technical manuals and blueprints.
- Strong
mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong
mechanical aptitude / knowledge
- Ability
to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong
communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness
to work flexible hours / overtime to address production emergencies.
- High
sense of urgency and proven time management skills
- Ability to use measuring
techniques to inspect parts (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Ability to follow written
instructions.

oriented.
- Organized and able to follow
production priorities.
