Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as aBenefits Specialist!

About the role

As a Benefits Specialist, you will support our Life, Disability and Supplemental Health sales teams with inforce business. You'll manage relationships with assigned new and existing customers and grow the business while also resolving issues as they arise. The position requires a working understanding of the external marketplace, generating profitable revenue growth by retaining existing customers, expanding business and achieving customer satisfaction.

What you will do

  • Process Requests for Proposal (RFPs), adhering to service level requirements.
  • Partner with Sales Executives to create and deliver formal proposal and sales materials.
  • Implement New Sold Cases in the under 500 employee segment, including underwriting submission, contract review, delivery facilitation and follow up communication as needed.
  • Provide excellent service to assigned book of business, including inquiry response and follow up and working across the organization to resolve issues and provide solutions.
  • Manage renewal process for assigned book of business.
  • Assist Regional Account Manager and/or Regional Implementation.

Compensation

Hourly Range: $28.09 - $46.80 plus eligibility for annual bonus program

Who you are

  • High school diploma
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Four to six years group insurance experience
  • Life and Health Insurance license
  • Sales and mathematics aptitude
  • Proficiency in reading and presenting contract provisions
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills
