Job Description:

ClinicalResponsibilities(70%)

Ability toworkwithinamulti-disciplinary team to perform initial assessment, treatment and counseling of occupational injuries and illness and mental health crises and make referrals to internal and external providers related to injury or illness when necessary.

Provideproperdocumentationandeducation about workers compensation and work restrictionsfollowinganaccidentorillness.

Assistinimplementinghealthpromotionactivitieswithinthe NIHcommunity.

Independentlyconductspre-placement medical evaluations to include vital signs, hearing/vision testing and EKG's.

Enrollandeducateemployeesinappropriatemedicalsurveillanceprograms(animalexposureprogram,tuberculosis,andbiologicalsuretyprogram).

Strongworkingknowledgeofprovidingpatienteducationandtreatmenttoemployeeswhomay exposedtobloodbornepathogens.

Provideworkrelatedimmunizations,includinginternationaltravelimmunizationsandcounselingto NIHemployees.

Managetriagetelephonecallsandwalk-patientsinaprofessionalandwithquickassessmentskills.

NursewillbecrosstrainedforcoverageinsatelliteclinicinFrederickandBaltimore.

Performinitialevaluationandtriagingmedicalemergencies.

Assist in the clinical care proved for medical the clinical care provided for medical emergencies to include wound care, medication administration, phlebotomy, EKG's and BGM.

AdministrativeResponsibilities(30%)

ReviewandreviseallsectionsoftheOMSproceduremanualannually.

Participateinqualityimprovementactivities andnursetrainingandstaff meetings.

WorkwithOMSPhysiciansandAdvanced PracticeProvidersonnewOMSinitiatives.
