Job Description

We have an amazing opportunity a Milk Staff Accountant. The Milk Accounting Staff Accountant is a member of the Accounting team and is responsible for processing conventional cream and milk invoices, Federal Milk Market reporting and conventional milk PPV accruals and analysis. The Milk Accounting Staff Accountant will also maintain a good working relationship with our Milk Procurement, Producer Relations, Supply Chain Finance Teams, and milk auditors. This role can be based out of our Broomfield, CO or White Plains, NY office!

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:


* Review conventional cream invoices, reconcile with Dairy.com for accuracy, and submit to AP
* Review conventional milk invoices, reconcile with Dairy.com and SAP, and submit to AP
* Ensuring payments are issued in a timely manner (per Federal Milk Market orders)
* Process and submit Federal Milk Market and state reports
* Work cross-functionally with Milk Procurement and Producer Relations Teams to ensure Dairy.com producer master data is updated
* Conduct month-end close functions including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, conventional milk PPV accruals
* Assist with audits (including Federal Milk Market audits, External audits, National Dairy Promotions audit, etc.) providing requested information
* Maintain, update, and improve all schedules and spreadsheets utilized by the position
* Maintain and report on all relevant statistics for Milk Accounting. Task may include the assembly of both routine and ad-hoc reports based on business need
* Manage milk licenses, ensure they are up to date, maintain data in spreadsheet on renewals and expiration dates and renew as necessary
* Invoicing of milk and cream sent to producers as necessary
* Other duties as assigned



* You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field
* You have at least 1-3 years of transactional accounting experience (A/P, A/R, Accounting Clerk, Bookkeeper, etc.)
* You have working knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP)
* You must have working knowledge of general accounting procedures and process including GAAP
* You have the ability to work effectively with a variety of people in a team environment required
* You must demonstrate initiative to solve issues independently, consistently, and professionally
* You must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills
* You have strong communication skills; written and verbal
* You have strong computer skills, particularly with Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
* You have the ability to work effectively and in cooperation with various departments
* You are customer service oriented
* You have the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and effectively meet deadlines
* You have the ability to produce timely, accurate, reliable and relevant information

The base compensation range for this position is $75k-90k commensurate with experience.
