The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year.

7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months

This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be determined upon hire

This is a specially funded assignment with a projected end date of July 30, 2026 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.

Job Summary

The Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation at Gateway Community College is now hiring for a great role. This position will lead the development of a training curriculum for laboratory technicians in the bioscience industry. Supported by a grant from the US Department of Education the individual chosen for his position will coordinate the work of course developers, subject matter experts and media producers to create hybrid learning experiences for laboratory skill development.

Essential Functions



40% - Curriculum Development Project Management - Plans, organizes, assigns, reviews and evaluates the course development work of staff, Industry Subject Matter Experts, and independent contractors serving as a curriculum development project manager. Supports SMEs in the effective use of technology for online courses. Sources, engages and manages course production and media development talent resources for course production project work.



35% - Course Development - Develops instructional web and media-based interactive media objects (tutorials, demos, training modules, self-pace learning). Works in a wide range of multimedia software including audio, video, web, animation and photos to develop course materials for online and hybrid courses. Revises existing content and supplemental materials as necessary to meet changing needs and objectives.



15% - Learning Management - Supports and evaluates learning management systems and activities to ensure required records are maintained, educational outreach is achieved, and students are supported. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, policies and requirements and/or standards.



10% - Quality Assurance - Conducts online course checks before and during delivery for quality assurance, student feedback, program evaluation purposes. Troubleshoots technology issues and escalates to appropriate resources for resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in instructional design, training and development, educational technology or related field and four (4) years of experience in instructional design and development, program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation.

OR

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in instructional design, training and development, educational technology or related field and six (6) years of experience in instructional design and development, program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation.

OR

High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) years of experience in instructional design and development, program and systems development and/or assessment and evaluation

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience in designing and developing effective learning materials across a variety of formats including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, and blended learning. Demonstrated experience in the ability to develop engaging and interactive courses aligned with learning objectives.

B. Experience with using a variety of instructional design tools and software such as learning management systems, authoring tools, graphic design software, and multimedia editing tools. Experience in creating and editing written content, multimedia assets (videos, animations) and interactive elements to enhance learning experience. Experience with Articulate Storyboard and Adobe Captivate encouraged.

C. Experience with Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and team members.

D. Experience with industry training needs analysis and assessment. Experience conducting needs assessments, analyze learning gaps, and design solutions tailored to the target audience,

F. Experience working with a diverse population of students OR Experience with providing training to diverse groups.
