Overview

Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Resources Technical Integration Lead on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

In this role, you will support a team as they expand the boundaries of humanity through exploration focused on Low Earth Orbit (LEO), and ultimately to the Moon and beyond in support of NASA Human Spaceflight activities. As a Mission Integration & Utlization (MI&U) Engineer, your primary role is to provide mission resource integration and operations expertise in support of NASA missions. The MI&U team provides support to the International Space Station (ISS) Program and will extend support to the Orion, Gateway, Commercial Destinations in LEO (CLDP), Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP) programs, and more. This team plays an integral role in ensuring the ISS continues to operate safely, its crewmembers can live and conduct world class research, and a robust commercial marketplace is being fostered in LEO. LEO commercialization is a key factor in allowing NASA to focus full speed ahead on returning to the Moon, establishing a sustainable lunar presence, and preparing for future missions to Mars.

Our primary government work is with NASA and is conducted at the Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX and the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL. Responsibilities

The Resources Technical Integration Lead will:

    Support the MI&U Resources Team responsible for mission resource integration and operations with a focus on Consumables.
  • Apply systems engineering principles and techniques to requirements validation, product development, product integration, requirements verification, system validation, and hardware/software product deployment.
  • Develop and track mission resources, requirement compliance and development, process evaluation and design, data integration, and data source validation.
  • Complete and validate what-if analyses and develop reporting capabilities.
  • Present analysis results and recommendations to HSFTIC management and NASA customers in one-on-one meetings and/or panels/boards.
  • Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements in support of International Space Station (ISS), other Commercial and Human Space Flight Programs that HSFTIC supports.
  • Maintain up to date working knowledge of threats and risks associated with resources and incorporate those into resupply recommendations.
  • Integrate across multiple disciplines and stakeholders to ensure all parties are coordinated and working to the same assumptions and expectations.
  • Coordinate with International Partners to resolve related challenges.
  • Coordinate overall nominal consumables resupply plans.
  • Be dedicated to innovative thinking to resolve complex resource and process issues.
  • Manage consumables constraints and requirements, including evaluating the Generic Groundrules, Requirements,
  • and Constraints (GGR&C) Reserve requirements and securing Program acceptance of resolution plans and required violation/waiver rationale.
  • Define and manage usage rates and track on-orbit inventories for:
    • Nitrogen and Oxygen Gas Containers
    • Water Containers
    • Waste Hardware
    • Food
  • Produce consumables analyses/inputs for Increment Operations Review (IOR), OC ISS Monthly Program Review (IMPR), Stage Operations Readiness Review (SORR), Flight Readiness Review (FRR), three (3) Year and special assessments as needed.
    • Support to senior management at NASA boards and panels.
    • Provide technical systems knowledge during major project milestones and project reviews. interchange meetings (TIMs).
  • Provide consumables analysis support and briefings as needed in case of failures, anomalies, what if scenarios, and other contingency scenarios.
  • Backup Consumables Mission Resource Manager
  • Travel may be required on a periodic basis to support program reviews and technical.
  • Periodic overtime and shiftwork as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited Engineering school, plus fifteen (15) years of professional work experience, plus eight (8) years ISS experience.
  • Management or leadership experience, including managing deliverables, establishing schedules, and updating various levels of management.
  • Previous experience with process development or process improvements
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and take initiative in completing tasks with minimal management direction.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and target clear and concise messages to the appropriate audience.
  • Analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, integration, coordination, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interdependence, teamwork, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of basic computer programming elements, principles, and techniques.

Preferences:

  • Knowledge of ISS Mission Integration & Operations in the ares including but not limited to:
    • Six (6) years' experience as an Environmental and Thermal Operation Systems (ETHOS) Flight Controller
    • Six (6) years certified as an Emergency, Environmental, and Consumables (EECOM) Flight Controller
    • Consumables (Waste Hygiene Compartment (WHC), Environmental Control & Life Support System (ECLSS), Food)
    • Food Management
    • Crew Provisioning
    • On-Orbit Stowage
