DESCRIPTION

This position will work with a team of nurse educators, CNSs, and key stakeholders to manage, facilitate, and evaluate general nursing orientation and manage all of the nursing department's mentorship programs using the Mentor lead platform. This position will oversee and facilitate all administrative requirements for the nurse clinical ladder advancement program in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Advancement Council. The candidate will also ensure alignment to all of their programs to ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) nurse residency program standards. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, evaluating, and implementing system-wide education and professional development programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple nurse mentorship programs using Mentor lead software. Facilitates matches and enrollment, evaluates and modifies programs to meet stakeholder needs, develops leadership reports, socializes programs.
  • Manages administrative responsibilities associated with shared governance led nurse clinical ladder advancement program.
  • Works with nursing leadership to develop and establish a variety of evidence-based nursing staff orientation and education and training programs. Uses multimodal teaching strategies to ensure programs are appropriately developed for the audience.
  • Develops and implements processes to ensure that nursing education and training activities are compliant with all legal and certification requirements, and medical center and organizational standards of care.
  • Advances nursing expertise by pursuing professional development, encourages ongoing staff development, continuing education, and training. Keeps abreast of regulatory and procedural changes related to clinical education and training programs.
  • Participates in committees, task forces, and projects that evaluate a broad variety of issues, including quality of care, patient safety, and licensure and accreditation requirements.
  • Works with nursing leadership to apply best practice and nursing research data to improve clinical practice and outcome assessments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • RN License issued by the State of California.
  • Five (5+) or more years of experience relevant to this position.
  • Advanced knowledge of developing and delivering clinical nursing education and training material for orientation, class training and skills / competency learning and leadership development.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to participate in the development and delivery of new education and training programs and to develop positive working relationships with nursing staff and leadership.
  • Strong organizational and project management skill to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communications to convey the most complex clinical, technical, and education and training information in a clear and concise manner, and to produce high-quality reports, documentation, and presentations.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess highly-complex and urgent problems to develop an expedient path of resolution.
  • Experience with Excel, Canva, Power Point, Teams.
  • Familiar with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (EDI) best practices, and can direct nursing education efforts to address and close health equity gaps among marginalized populations and communities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Program management experience.
  • Certification in nursing professional development.
  • Experience using instructional design software
SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $112,100 - $216,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $53.69 - $103.69

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
