Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Date Warehousing Specialist to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team while supporting the US Courts OSCAR program. We are looking for a Data Warehousing Specialist who will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data warehouses and data marts to support our organization's data needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience with data warehousing technologies, and a deep understanding of data modeling and ETL processes. The Data Warehousing Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, integrity, and accessibility of data assets for reporting, analysis, and business intelligence purposes.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain data warehouse architectures, including dimensional modeling, schema design, and data integration processes.
  • Implement and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to extract data from source systems, transform it into usable formats, and load it into the data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data warehouse solutions.
  • Optimize data warehouse performance for query processing, data loading, and data retrieval, ensuring high availability and scalability.
  • Monitor and maintain data warehouse health, including data quality, data consistency, and system performance, and implement proactive solutions to address issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data warehouse processes, data models, and data lineage to support data governance and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business intelligence developers to provide access to data and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in data warehousing and related fields, and share knowledge with the team.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in data warehousing or related roles, with hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining data warehouses and ETL processes.
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies, including dimensional modeling, star schema, snowflake schema, and data integration techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache NiFi.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering scalable, high-performance data warehouse solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Commitment to quality, excellence, and continuous improvement, with a passion for learning and staying updated with the latest technologies and best practices in data warehousing.
Desired Skills
  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing platforms such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles and practices, including data quality management, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Previous experience in [specific industry or domain].
  • Certifications in relevant data warehousing technologies or platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Data Warehousing Specialty, Snowflake Certified SnowPro, etc.).
