Description:
  • Provide technical and administrative direction for supporting quality assurance of complex software applications, including evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies. Serve as subject matter specialist providing testing know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications. Direct in all phases of risk management assessments and software development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection.
  • The candidate must be knowledgeable and experienced as a Quality Assurance Automation Test Engineer for UI and Server based application software testing, having experience both creating and maintaining software automation test scripts. Likewise, the candidate must have a working knowledge of software engineering concepts such as software development standards, quality assurance standards, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), interpretation of product requirements, test plan and test case development, testing of software functionality, product installation, performance, load, and usability (508 compliance experience a plus) testing.
Essential Functions & Duties:
  • Extensive experience in black box manual testing of web applications with UIs
  • Extensive experience with functional, system, regression, and integration testing
  • Ability to read and execute complex SQL.
  • Ability to analyze a product for accurate Integration test scenarios.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
  • Proven experience developing test plans and test cases from requirements/user stories.
  • Proven experience with test management tools. X-Ray experience is preferred.
  • Proven experience with automated testing tools such as HPE Performance Center (LoadRunner)
  • Experience with a variety of SDLC/EPLC methodologies required.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience in white box testing of RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, and/or web services.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines and report status
  • Ability to document QA procedures for the team.
  • Ability to validate the deployment of software releases.
  • Proven experience in test planning (including data planning), test scheduling, and test evaluation.
  • Proven experience creating, maintaining, and evaluating of software automation test scripts (including incorporation of dynamic test data)
  • Ability to train others regarding automation test concepts; plus providing guidance and direction as needed.
  • Management of defects within a corporate defect tracking system.
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
  • Being a highly effective Quality Assurance Engineer and an active part of the projects Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:
  • Test Automation Engineer: Last 5-7 years of automation testing preferred.
  • Candidate may need to gain the Security+ certification at the time of hire or will need to obtain within 6 months of start date.
Citizenship or Work Authorization Required:
  • Ability to attain Federal Government Position of Trust
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
Preferred Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree - Computer Science or related area
Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $68,000- $97,000
Essential Job Function Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this position are critical in evaluating the qualifications and abilities of an applicant or employee. The physical efforts needed to perform the essential duties of this job 90% of the time are repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and finger dexterity of the hands, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, color distinction, and full visual abilities, hearing, talking, sitting, and use of IT equipment, phones, and office machines.
To a reduced degree, <30% of the time, candidates may have to stand, walk, lift 0-30 pounds, push or pull objects, climb stairs, bend, squat, reach, drive a car, or work overtime.
