We have an opening for a Senior Applications Engineer, Configuration Management.

The Senior Applications Engineer, Configuration Management drives and supports adherence and adoption of ITSM process within the Applications team. They provide guidance and expertise to the team on all areas of ITSM as it relates to the portfolio of solutions and services owned. This individual will own and drive processes and activities related to ISO 27001, change management, asset management, reporting, configuration management, and business continuity.

In this capacity, the Senior Applications Engineer, Configuration Management will:

  • Implement and maintain ITSM processes for business enterprise applications including change and incident management, assets/CIs, reporting/metrics, configuration management, business continuity, and monitoring;
  • Work with the IT service management team to advance and mature our overall processes, compliance, and documentation;
  • Work with the business continuity/disaster recovery team to advance and mature our overall processes, compliance, and documentation;
  • Work with our NOC team to define, implement, and fine-tune system monitoring and escalation/response path;
  • Help obtain and maintain ISO certification to further risk reduction, standards, and client requirements; Prepare for, document, prove, and participate in periodic recertification;
  • Provide guidance and expertise in change management;
  • Build reports and dashboards for key team metrics such as incidents, system health and stability, and vulnerabilities;
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow and related ITSM tools;
  • Be able to speak the language of the ITSM team in order to perform analysis of processes, application features and configurations, end user questions, etc.;
  • Build, maintain and advance a strong relationship with appropriate vendors;
  • Understand the roadmap for specific offerings and demonstrate strong knowledge of the ITSM space; and
  • Monitor, track and report on performance and capacity. Responsible for capacity planning.

Proficiencies:

  • Experience and skills of ITIL and ServiceNow best practices in SACM (Service Assets and Configuration Management);
  • Experience and skills in ITIL and ServiceNow best practices in HAM (Hardware Asset Management) and SAM (Software Asset Management);
  • Full understanding of CMDB structure;
  • Possess strong communication, organization, negotiation, critical thinking, and leadership skills as well as exceptional customer service and collaboration abilities;
  • Ability to work with project management on plans, tasks, and resource management and tools such as Confluence and JIRA;
  • Familiarity with system integrations including APIs, web services, FTP, and database to database;
  • Familiarity with SQL Server, SQL development/queries, and reporting tools;
  • Familiarity of Windows Server including IIS, services, scheduled tasks, logging, and configurations;
  • Familiarity with security best practices and procedures; and
  • Familiarity with data governance best practices and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years' experience working with ITSM processes and solutions (required);
  • At least 7 years' of information technology experience (required);
  • At least 5 years' experience working with and supporting enterprise platforms (required);
  • At least 3 years' executive level engagement and customer service experience (preferred); and
  • At least 3 years' of experience in a professional services or legal environment (preferred).
