Position Summary

The Systems Engineering (SE) Manager oversees the entire SE group and ensures the most effective means are being utilized to comply with customer project/program requirements. The SE Manager ensures a cross disciplinary approach to solving problems and makes decisions on tools and methodology to be used on programs/projects based on project needs. The SE Manager also ensures appropriate technologies and tools are being utilized to ensure customer satisfaction. The SE Manager will be operating in both the Vee and MBSE digital engineering paradigms.

Duties & Responsibilities

The specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Supervise Systems Engineers. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining (including separation) employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Partner with teams within Oceaneering to support the complete set of system engineering products within the Vee model. These to include requirements, Design reviews, functional analysis, test and evaluation
* Develop and implement SE capabilities in key specialty engineering domains (RMA, EMI, CM) in the next 2 years.
* Grow meaningful and measurable involvement (generate specifications, RVTM etc) of SE into greater than 80% of all programs in the next 2 years.
* Oversee all aspects of our System Engineering products: in both the Vee and MBSE methodologies Generate and implement a complete set of System Engineering Best Practices within 5 years.
* Provide work direction and technical leadership for supervised employees.
* Review progress and evaluate results of work accomplished by self and others.
* Review and approve objectives, schedules, and estimates for difficult assignments.
* Estimate resource requirements to meet technical and scheduling objectives.
* Estimate personnel needs and coordinate work to meet completion dates.
* Review completion and implementation of technical products.
* Ensure that customer requirements are systematically converted into total system solutions.
* Demonstrate expert technical judgment and appreciable independent evaluation and ingenuity.
* Take an active leadership role in bid and proposal efforts by providing cost estimations, technical approach definitions, and input to baseline schedule and data.
* 30% travel required
* Perform all other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL:

* Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution
* 15+ years of experience leading engineering teams (in excess of 15 people) in technology products with government focus and developing at a high level of competency in a team environment.
* 10+ years of system engineering experience.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Commensurate experience required.
* At least 5 years of experience in MBSE product: CAMEO, MagicDraw etc.
* Excellent knowledge in System engineering standards. INCOSE SE handbook, IEEE/ISOIEC-15288, DAU.
* Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Strong communication skills and ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
* Strong leadership skills to manage and grow large a geographically distributed and diverse SE team.
* Entrepreneurial spirit with a demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a fast-paced innovative environment.
* Must have the ability to network and interface with high-tech companies, work within the structures and processes of engineering.
* Deep understanding of relevant processes, including System Engineering development processes in US government programs.
* Ability to travel domestically and international required.
* Ability to obtain and maintain TS-SCI clearance with CI poly

DESIRED:

* Advanced degree in an engineering discipline
* Master's degree with a focus on Systems Engineering, robotics, controls, or software.
* Experience in hardware and software integration and building new architecture.
* Experience in ROV and control systems.
* SE Certification: ASEP, CSEP or ESEP from INCOSE

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
