Position Summary

General Summary:

Performs clinical and certain administrative duties under the direction of physician. Administrative duties may
include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties may include but is not
limited to taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing
blood, and administering medications as directed by physician

Qualifications
  • Required: Must be certified to practice as a Medical Assistant in the State of Maryland.
  • Registered Medical Assistant with the American Medical Technologist (RNA) or The American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
  • Basic Life Support - Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Must be through the American Heart Association
  • Completed Course Work/Program: High School and Medical Assistant Program
