Introduction to the job

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in solid modeling, detailed drawings, and mechanical design to join our DUV Mechanical Engineering (MDEV) team. This position will be focused on sustaining mechanical assemblies and completing drawing updates for change orders for Cymer's DUV laser products. This role will also be responsible for improving existing product design as well as generating new product designs and development.

Role and responsibilities
  • Processing change orders and updating documentation in Agile.
  • Create solid models and detailed drawings for parts in Creo.
  • Create sub-assemblies and full laser assemblies in Creo.
  • Mechanical design of machined, sheet metal, additive, and molded parts.
  • Calculate and analyze mechanical tolerance stack ups.
  • Conduct problem solving on mechanical fit and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors on the fabrication of mechanical parts.
  • Design production fixtures for assembly and alignment.
  • Collaborate with other engineering groups such as Optics, Chambers, Systems, and Controls on sub-system design.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and experience
  • Requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, advanced degree (M.S./PhD) is a plus.
  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience (or combination of relevant work experience and educational experience beyond B.S.).
  • Experience designing mechanical parts (machined, sheet metal, molded) and mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficiency with CAD software packages (solid modeling and detailed drawings), Creo preferred.
  • Experience with documentation control systems, Agile and Windchill preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical tolerance analysis.
  • Experience working with machine shops and other part fabricators.
  • Familiarity with cooling systems, gas and vacuum fittings, bearings and mechanisms.
  • Finite Element Modeling experience (structural, thermal, vibration, fluid dynamics).
  • Experience designing opto-mechanical parts and assemblies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industrial lasers and semiconductor capital equipment is a plus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $99,375-$165,625. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
