ChristianaCare is looking for a full-time Implant Control Specialist to assist Patient Care Coordinators and OR personnel in assuring the availability of all implants and occasional instrumentation related to implants (drill bits, guide wire) for all procedures on a non-clinical level.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receives all stock, non-stock and consignment items pertaining to implants.
  • Examines product for quality, quantity and exactness to original purchase order.
  • Assist PCC as requested in assuring all loaner instrumentation and related implants are available and sterile in advance of surgery.
  • Assist PCC in facilitating the timely return of all loaner implants/instrumentation, including damaged goods.
  • Checking & investigating all Implant Records.
  • Verifying implants used.
  • Verifies received items were entered in PMM system. If not, request an Item number.
  • Approve charges for Billing Clerk to process. Assist with research for pricing & documentation of non-file item
  • Follow daily OR schedule and notate implant records received as anticipated
  • Ensure accuracy of patient charges compared with documentation.
  • Complete implant purchase requisitions
  • Follows up on daily implant orders to ensure that they are received properly and on time.
  • Follows procedures required for the handling of trackable implants/explants.
  • Implant inventory completed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Hours: Day shift 7am- 3:30pm includes weekends and holidays. May have to float to other campuses based on department needs.Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma

Associates Degree in Business preferred.

1 year Materials Management (receiving, inventory control) and/or related experience

1 year experience in handling and using medical supplies.

Knowledge of medical terminology and computer proficiency

Working Conditions:

Office environment with frequent need to be in contact with staff in the Operating Rooms, Material Management and Sterile Processing Department

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift 50lbs along with period of times of standing and sitting.
