We deliver value to clients in areas such as IT Strategy Consulting, Benchmarking, Analytics and Optimization. Typically, this helps Gartner's clients to execute on their strategic priorities, across all sectors, including:

  • Big Data and Analytics

  • Applications Rationalization

  • Cloud Strategy

About this role:

As a Director you will bring Gartner's research, best practices, and tools to life across a broad range of world-class clients. Directors increase client engagement and ensure each client is applying Gartner's resources to their work. They ask insightful questions to diagnose the causes of client challenges, and they recommend the best course of action. Directors are client-centric thought partners who apply best practice research toward resolving client challenges.

What you will do:

Our Consulting Directors are responsible for project delivery and oversight along with client relationship management. You will manage teams and advise clients at the strategic level on both big-picture and tactical matters, focusing on how technology enables a wide range of business outcomes.

  • Apply expansive knowledge of Gartner research to help resolve business problems for clients through 1:1 interaction, workshops, small group forums, and large stage presentations

  • Engage senior-level executives by building relationships, establishing credibility, conducting substantive content discussions, diagnosing needs, solving problems, and identifying relevant resources

  • Actively shape the direction of ongoing research and product creation projects; participate in and provides feedback during checkpoint meetings and other stages of the strategic research process.

  • Partner with sales and service delivery partners to increase account growth, retention, and engagement

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA, Master's or other advanced degree preferred

  • 8 - 12+ years of experience in related field or industry

  • Subject matter expertise in IT Strategy and more specifically Cybersecurity Strategies

  • Relevant security qualifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SANS, GIAC)

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Comfortable selling to, influencing and building trust-based, value-added relationships with senior executives

  • Coachable and embracing of best practices and feedback as a means of continuous improvement

  • A consistently high achiever marked by perseverance, humility, and a positive outlook in the face of challenges

  • Experience within a well-regarded management consultancy in a project delivery and sales capacity

  • Prior experience in a problem-solving capacity such as a solution/technical architect or analyst preferred

  • Experience working with multiple IT solutions.

  • Experience working in multiple Cybersecurity areas (Governance, Risk & Compliance, Identity & Access Management, Security Operations, Network Security, Security Architecture/Engineering, Data Privacy/Cryptography)

  • Experience working with an industry-specific clients (e.g., Financial Services, Manufacturing, High-Tech, Federal government, State & Local Government)

  • A consistent track record of leading people and building high-performing teams that leverage technology to drive the mission-critical priorities of commercial or government entities

  • An ability to inspire and motivate professionals from both technical and non-technical backgrounds towards a common goal

  • An unwavering commitment to the success of your team, and willingness to provide constructive/ corrective action when needed

  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and the creative development of solutions and strategies to solve client problems - must adapt Gartner frameworks and methodologies to strike at the heart of a client's most pressing business challenges

  • An ability to be hands-on and to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 166,400 USD - 201,020 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
