Overview

LMI is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join our Health & Civilian, Public Health team supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS.) In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent delivery to our clients. This involves leading and developing our team of policy, communications, operations, and analytics subject matter experts and ensuring customer happiness.

Successful LMI Program Managers demonstrate competency in project execution, financial management, leadership, talent management and career planning, critical thinking, relationship management, and business growth while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior. This position may be performed remotely in the United States.

Responsibilities
    Foster positive working relationships with team, client personnel, and leadership counterparts.
  • Lead a cross-functional team, and support overall staffing requirements, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, execution, and retention.
  • Manage complex project ensuring that goals, requirements, and outcomes are defined to ensure excellent execution.
  • Lead development and management of project management plan solution.
  • Coordinate across task leads and monitor team performance to ensure milestones are met and deliverables are submitted in a timely fashion and are of high quality/accuracy; when appropriate, propose a plan to correct any variances and adapt to an agile environment.
  • Ensure established project standards are upheld and clearly defined throughout the entire process of each project's development and execution.
  • Leverage leadership skills to assist teams to raise their performance, removing blockers team success and when necessary, provide employees with corrective action plans to improve performance.
  • Identify and create efficiencies and bring innovation in current project to streamline efforts.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports, briefing charts, schedule meetings, keep records and record minutes, and prepare after-action reports in support of project performance reviews.
  • Brief CMS leadership on project schedule, identified risks and mitigations, and upcoming milestones. Facilitate other client meetings as needed.
  • Support business development and bid and proposal efforts for opportunities, bringing together capabilities across LMI to define a solution that meets and exceeds client expectations.
  • Work with LMI and LMI business partners to pursue new business opportunities.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in relevant business, technical, or professional, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting federal government leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, develop creative solutions, and collaboratively lead cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build future leaders and elevate performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimizing staffing and implementing process improvements.
  • Experience developing and writing winning proposals.

Desired

  • Master's degree or higher.
  • Experience running projects of a similar size and scope at CMS.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage portfolio budgets in support of overall company objectives.
  • PMP Certification or other equivalent certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and win capture opportunities.
