Digital Content Editor, Successful Farming

Job Description

Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

This role administers many of the daily tasks of Agriculture.com, including updating the homepage, sending the newsletter, editing short videos, and posting to social media. This role is responsible for posting freelance and content contributor's articles to the website. In addition, this individual will create original content for Agriculture.com and Successful Farming magazine.

Essential Job Functions

30% - Content creation for Agriculture.com, including writing articles and producing social media videos, and for Successful Farming magazine, which may include writing and coordinating partner programs.

40% - Executing on content distribution, including updating the homepage, posting to social media, and sending the daily newsletter. This will include tactical work to support SEO and evergreen content updates.

20% - Coordinating content posting to Agriculture.com, including posting freelance and magazine articles. This may include editing content to align with Successful Farming's style and tone. This may also include adding multimedia content to these articles

10% - Travel to cover industry news events, capture multimedia content.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

  • Has a bachelor's degree in journalism, ag communications, or similar fields.

Experience:

  • Writing background is required. Experience with social media and using a content management system is preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision
  • Agriculture interest or background
  • Self starter
  • Google Drive
