All about the role:

We are excited to seek a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team as an R&D Lab Engineer for our diverse North American fabric care R&D team. This pivotal role is at the heart of our product development, leading the design of new cycles for our washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers.

Your primary responsibility will be to create cutting-edge cycles that not only meet but exceed cleaning performance and energy efficiency targets. This must be accomplished while ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and reliability.

While your focus will be on new product introduction, your expertise may also be called upon for cost reduction and quality initiatives. You'll be part of our North American fabric care R&D team, primarily based in Charlotte, NC, with opportunities to collaborate with our European colleagues.

You'll work closely with a global technical team, integrating software, mechanical, and electrical components into functional development.

We're looking for someone with a deep desire to learn, a knack for data analysis, a solid understanding of engineering principles, and a flair for designing creative solutions. An open-minded individual who takes ownership of assignments and thrives in a team environment will find this role both challenging and rewarding.

What you'll do:

  • Develop residential washer, dryer, and dishwasher appliance cycles for new product introductions.

  • Develop product functionalities related to washing technologies.

  • Deliver innovative proposals with the potential for intellectual property

  • Develop competitive product claims via statistical methods that leverage technical design aspects.

  • Develop appliance functionality to meet performance, energy, and regulatory targets.

  • Coordinate testing and completion of test reports or lab journals.

  • Create new test methods and procedures when necessary.

  • Deliver technical specifications for functionality and algorithms.

  • Provide ideas and plans to constantly improve appliance functionality.

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or relevant experience in a structured technical field.

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Product Development or R&D.

  • Experience in a laboratory setting or testing environment.

  • Six Sigma certification (Black Belt or Green Belt) would be considered a plus.

This position is a full-time position based at our Tech Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
