Kearfott Corporation is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Black Mountain, NC or Pine Brook, NJ. As an IT professional, you will be responsible for planning, designing, deploying, executing and maintaining our existing and future network/systems infrastructure including LAN/WAN/WLAN, VOIP, security, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, power systems and internet facing services. This individual performs site surveys and audits to ensure that the organization's network infrastructure meets the proper specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to plan, design, document and deploy the overall network including routers, switches, WAN/LAN/WLAN and virtual private networks
  • Design and support network infrastructure for the Windows, Linux and Unix systems utilizing Cisco products and technologies
  • Design, implement and maintain server, web, email and firewall solutions
  • Contributes to technical design of network in partnership with all areas of IT
  • Manage and maintain the network architecture along with network security solutions
  • Maintain and configure firewall, intrusion detection systems and other network security solutions, such as, Cisco ISE
  • Serve as a point of escalation, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network related issues
  • Monitor network performance and identify bottlenecks and trends
  • Identify and plan how to implement hardware and software upgrades, patches and tune-ups
  • Analyzes and configures web facing services, such as, proxy servers
  • Develops, implements and monitors security policies and procedures
  • Stays up-to-date with the latest advancements and technologies related to network infrastructure
  • Provide technical support and guidance to system users and other technical staff
  • Document network topology, configurations and procedures
  • Reviews vendor and trade publications to ensure that newly identified vulnerabilities with IP routing software/hardware are evaluated for risk to our deployments
  • Ability to multi-task
Required Skills
  • Must have managed/owned a project utilizing the full project management lifecycle process
  • Strong communication, teamwork & organizational skills are required
  • US Citizen/ Permanent Resident - Possesses or is able to obtain a security clearance
  • Job requires up to 25% travel. Job location is Asheville, NC
  • Cisco certifications are a plus
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure and systems engineering
  • Experience in managing and supporting networks, including Linux and Windows based systems
  • Knowledge and experience in managing servers, LANs/WANs/WLANs, routers, switches and firewalls
  • Working knowledge of Cisco technologies and products, including Cisco ISE
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to troubleshoot network and security related issues
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US and have the ability to obtain a security clearance. Visa sponsorship is not available.
