Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contract position at a homeless shelter in Washington DC. The LPN will play a crucial role in providing medical attention to individuals residing in the shelter, serving as a bridge during their transitional period before moving into permanent housing.
Responsibilities:

We have full time and prn opportunities available.


1. Provide comprehensive medical care to individuals in the homeless shelter.
2. Demonstrate compassion and understanding for the unique needs of the homeless community.
3. Work 12-hour shifts on weekdays, from 7 am to 7 pm.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure the well-being of shelter residents.
5. Participate in ongoing training and orientation sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on relevant practices.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
7. Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
Requirements:


1. Active and valid DC nursing license.
2. Proven experience as an LPN, preferably with experience in community or transitional care.
3. Strong knowledge of healthcare practices relevant to the homeless population.
4. Ability to work 12-hour shifts week days and weekends, flexibility with the scheduling.
5. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals in transitional housing.
