Varian is looking for an experienced, highly motivated individual who can perform product verification to ensure our radiation oncology products maintain the highest quality, safety, and efficacy. As the Product Verification Test Engineer, you will utilize technical skills for setting up test environments, developing, maintaining and executing test cases for verifying the functionality of our treatment delivery systems products. You will be part of the development team that works efficiently and effectively in a cross-functional environment.

As part of the test team, plan and execute the various testing activities against medical devices for cancer therapy to demonstrate that they meet the quality standards.

What You will do:

  • Develop, modify, and execute product test plans that ensure the product quality and safety.
  • Perform hands-on installation and configuration of hardware and software components for the test environments.
  • Analyze, develop and execute test cases independently in test lab as well as test cell environment in an efficient and timely manner and document the test results.
  • Identify and clearly document encountered software defects and consult with development engineers in resolution of problems.
  • Analyze and review product specifications (e.g. product requirements specifications, system, functional and design specifications) to ensure product quality, safety, reliability, and testability.

What You will have:

  • Typical Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical areas (or equivalent experience) and/or 2-5 years of related experience or Masters Degree.
  • Experience testing hardware/software control systems
  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting in software-hardware integration areas.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodology and industry-standard testing and bug tracking tools.
  • Experience with cybersecurity testing
  • Experience in setting up hardware and software test environments.
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

What will set You apart:

  • Experience with medical device testing.
  • Experience in the development of software test automation and Python programming
  • Experience and knowledge of Radiation Therapy devices, Oncology Information Systems, Radiation Therapy Treatment Planning Systems and/or other radiation therapy related devices and software by Varian Medical Systems and/or others

The base pay range for this position is

Min $88,800 - Max $155,400

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
