Description
Do you have room in your heart and home for an individual with special needs? No experience needed just the ability to build a relationship with a person with a disability and a room in your home. Be open to helping and providing needed support to a person that may need help with everyday activities.
Lifesharing provides the opportunity for individuals with an intellectual disability to live with a family or member of the community and share life experiences with the host family. Through LifeSharing, individuals with developmental disabilities become a participating part of your family and an active member of the community you live in.
Individuals in Lifesharing have goals to be more independent with every day skills, build relationships, and make everyday choices with the assistance of the Lifesharing Provider.
Pathways Llifesharing providers are independent contractors that receive a competitive monthly stipend, 30 respite days per year, and 24/7 on-call support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provide individuals with a safe, nurturing, healthy environment.
-Assist individuals with daily living skills.
-Help improve their relationships with family, friends, adn members of the community.
-Assist individuals with daily life decisions.
-Support individuals in the acquisition of new skills.
-Assist individuals with daily living skills.

-Assist with medical appointments and medications
-Attend required trainings (initial and 24 hours annually)

-Commitment to working closely with ReDCo/Pathways County and State Agency Representatives
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must live in PA for at least 2 years
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a separate bedroom for the individual.
- Meet state requirements for health and safety of the person being placed, including a non- shared bedroom and adequate living space.
- Criminal clearances for all household members 18 years of age and older

- General physical with mantoux for all persons living in the household
(initially and bi-annually).
- Minimum of 24 hours pre-service training and annual trainings.

- Current PA driver's license
- Must have transportation
- Must Provide homeowner's and vehicle insurance
