Details

The Office of Animal Resources is seeking temporary employees to assist and train with OAR staff. Position pays $16.00 per hour.

  • Cleans and disinfects animal enclosures, isolation rooms, buildings, and equipment, adhering to established policies for maintaining pathogen free environments and containment of animals exposed to infectious diseases.
  • Performs all aspects of sterilization, equipment operation, safety procedures, proper documentation, and prioritization. Sterilizes items per manufacturer's instructions, verifies correct parameters used for all equipment.
  • Assembles caging carts in accordance with facility cart orders. Performs duties in a high stress environment.
  • Operates mechanical equipment, such as autoclaves, ventilated racks, and cage washers. Checks for and reports failures in heating and ventilation systems to supervisor.
  • Transports animals, equipment, and supplies using carts or motorized vehicles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduation or equivalent.

Position may have Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Risk

Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.

  • Ability to read, write and follow directions.

Desirable Qualifications

* Previous cleaning experience

  • Experience using cleaning equipment
