Job Summary
The SRA I/II will provide research assistance for Dr Geoffrey Buckle in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine. Dr Buckle conducts research focused on cancer care delivery in resource-limited settings in close association with the UCSF Global Cancer Program. His groups work focuses on the etiology, early detection and treatment of esophageal cancer in resource-limited settings. It also focuses on the ways in which research on cancer care is being used to inform clinical practice in low- and middle income countries.
The position involves abstracting select data from a pre-populated list of scientific articles that were identified in the NCCN Harmonized Guidelines for Prostate Cancer in sub-Saharan Africa. Specific data include the age, gender, racial/ethnic composition, and geographic origin of the study populations. Abstracted data will be entered into REDCAP. The incumbent will communicate with Dr. Buckle regularly over email and attend meetings every month or biweekly as needed.

Department Description
The Division of Hematology/Oncology is one of the largest Divisions in the Department of Medicine. Currently, the Division has 76 Full-time faculty, 18 part-time and/or volunteer faculty, 29 ACGME and non-ACGME fellows, 22 post-doctoral fellows, 26 Non-faculty appointments and 56 administrative and research staff. The Division's primary research, clinical and teaching functions are primarily split between the Parnassus, Mission Bay and Mount Zion campuses, although the faculty, fellows, and staff have appointments and clinical, research, and educational activities at SFGH, and VAMC.
