Overview

BigBear.ai is seeking [a/an] Consulting Manager to lead a simulation consulting team and their multiple projects with our clients.

This position is fully remote, with a base office in Tysons Corner, VA. There is an expectation of frequent travel to customer sites (up to 50%, but on average 10-20%).

As Simulation Consulting Manager for BigBear.ai, you will manage the Software Implementation and Simulation Consulting team along with their projects, provide mentoring to early career simulation consultants and business analysts, work with customers to ensure your team successfully delivers the project, and work with peers and management to ensure revenue and profitability targets are met. You will have direct impact on the successful delivery and adoption of our software by clients as well as ongoing internal standardization and improvement, including development of features for the product roadmap.

  • Manage a team of consultants.
  • Ensure projects are profitable with high customer satisfaction by managing delivery of multiple, simultaneous projects with strong planning, client relations, team management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Manage customer and employee expectations.
  • Grow your team's skills and help them develop their careers.
  • Identify revenue expansion opportunities within your customers and support closing those new opportunities.
  • Use your deep experience in process analysis and improvement methods and in using traditional industrial engineering tools, with a heavy focus on simulation modeling, to lead a team of simulation consultants.
  • Support sales opportunities, tradeshows, technical seminars and workshops, and other speaking opportunities.
  • Provide product enhancement feedback to the product development team.
  • Develop and integrate best practices for efficient, reliable, and scalable project delivery
  • Collaborate with peers and the broader organization to ensure workplace efficiency and visibility for your team.

What you need to have

  • 10+ years managing software implementation projects.
  • 5+ years working with discreet event simulation.
  • 5+ years managing a team.
  • Industry experience with ProModel and/or Process Simulator simulation software (Experience with other discrete-event simulation software products will be considered in place of experience with ProModel and/or Process Simulator software).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Expertise identifying and mitigating risks to project cost, schedule, quality, scope, and resources.
  • Experience performing and managing quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision.
  • Experience interacting professionally with customers, peers, employees, management and vendors.
  • Experience working effectively as a team contributor and enabling your team to work effectively together as well as part of the larger team.
  • Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with customers, peers, management, employees and the broader organization.
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Systems & Industrial Engineering or a related field; experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must be able to obtain Secret clearance.

  • Experience in warehousing, distribution system and logistics process simulation.
  • Experience in large, complex manufacturing process simulation.
  • Experience with solution architecture, database design, and software application design.
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP, or other project management certification.
  • Lean certification.
  • Agile certification.
  • Focused risk management experience.
  • Systems thinking approach to problem solving.
  • Experience in VBA programming in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio and Project.
