Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for the Position
Ability to:
- Demonstrate exemplary behavior at all times contributing to the total team concept of the department.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, equipment, and electrical testing equipment requiring manual dexterity.
- Work without direct supervision.
- Utilize computer, printer, copier, telephone, calculator, cell phone, 2-way radio.
- Stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, use knees, use back, some crawling required.
- Lift up to 100 pounds.
- Utilize face shield, masks, gloves, protective clothing, safety glasses, goggles, and other personal protective equipment applicable to the task being performed.
- Vision is required to review, read and input data, differentiate colors. Hearing is required in order to receive information via telephone or in person. Verbal skills are required in order to provide and receive information. The use of hands/fingers is required for data input.
- Drive pick up truck, van, and other non-commercially classed vehicles.
- To contribute to and work within a safe working environment.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at high levels as necessary.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Perform a variety of tasks as they relate to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, mechanical and related trades.
Credentials and Experience Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
- Post-High School technical training of at least one year preferred.
- Current, valid driver's license required.
- Experience performing skilled construction, maintenance and repair work preferred.
Special Requirements
- Must be available to work overtime as needed to complete all job duties.
- On call evenings, nights, and weekends on a rotating basis for emergency purposes or repairs.
- May be assigned overtime hours for weekend functions.
- Must be available to work in the case of a Hospital declared emergency.
