What you will do:

The HVAC Field Service Controls Technician Team Lead is responsible for the Building Automation team's performance and development, which includes training and coaching. The Team Lead ensures the technical competency of the team with supported building automation control systems. The Team Lead guides the team through very complex technical issues and assists with resolution. Additionally, the Team Lead works with sales staff, coordinators, and project managers to manage technician assignments, job tasks and requirements, subcontractors, and other trades interfacing with jobs and projects.

A key aspect of the HVAC Field Service Controls Technician Team Lead role is to ensure that the Building Automation team successfully executes the following tasks:

  • Startup, commission, and re-commission of customer systems that utilize pneumatic/electrical/ electronic technology.
  • Troubleshooting BAS systems and networks.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate As-Built drawing package, and make changes in Visio, Excel, Word, as required.
  • Completing all required commissioning documentation and other job-specific documentation.
  • Control system startup, check out, and turnover of various systems.
  • System/project design, cost estimation, installation, and service.

Experience:

  • Technical Lead experience.
  • Understanding of control logic.
  • Experience with Tridium Niagara and related BAS platforms.
  • Experience with common industry BAS platforms such as Tracer, Metasys, WebCTRL, etc.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record in compliance with company policy.
  • Willingness to travel over 50% of the typical work week, mostly local travel, and seldom overnight hotel stays.
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment more than 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
  • Knowledge in TCP/IP, BACnet, MODBUS, LON, and Johnson N2 networking.
  • Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to HVAC and building systems.
  • Prior experience performing HVAC and/or Building Automation service.
  • Ability to read diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and five (5) years related experience with increasing responsibility; or seven (7) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Other state certifications/licenses as required
