The Information Technology (IT) Project Manager position is a key contributor and is responsible for the overall planning, management and completion of medium to large IT projects, and will support projects of high complexity, as part of a program team in collaboration with the Director of EHR Applications and SVP of Business Transformation in the implementation and development of projects and Technology solutions. The IT Project Manager is primarily responsible for managing a wide variety of high-quality IT-related projects throughout all stages of a standard project life cycle while staying within the constraints of scope, time, and cost. The IT Project Manager manages IT projects primarily geared towards operational initiatives - such as deployment of a new systems infrastructure and information systems applications. Additional consideration is given for familiarity with hardware deployment and working in large, distributed enterprise environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a critical resource in the design, implementation, and evaluation of high-priority initiatives through data collection, analysis, project management and reporting. Performs as the day-to-day project point of contact for project stakeholders. Coordinates project activities, monitors progress, and ensures adherence to timelines and deliverables.
  • Manages a portfolio of projects with a high degree of independence, including complex projects spanning multiple workstreams, disciplines and entities. Develops and aligns project objectives with the organization's strategic goals and priorities, including identifying opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Manages the work of project teams by assembling team resources which ensure the alignment of team member skills and strengths with project demands; communicating a clear vision of project goals and objectives to the team; coordinating team activities to ensure project milestones are achieved; providing performance feedback to team members' supervisors as appropriate.
  • Employs a strong blend of organization and technical/process redesign skills and leadership.
  • Provides project management support through the use of project management tools, such as SmartSheet, Adobe Workfront and Domo. Develops project workplans that effectively define goals and tasks, sequencing efforts across multi-disciplinary teams and identifying interdependencies.
  • Manages the project to ensure it is delivered on time and on budget. Keeps project team and leadership apprised of progress, escalating any risks or concerns.
  • Facilitates effective communication and cross-functional collaboration among project stakeholders, and possess sophisticated communication skills when working with external resources, vendors, resellers, consultants, and various business agencies.
  • Maintains a commitment to professional development by participating in on-going supervision, training, and department and team meetings, as outlined by policies and procedures.
  • Has familiarity with standard concepts, terms, practices, and procedures within the Information Systems and Information Technology fields. Oversee the implementation of IT solutions and ensure alignment with industry best practices and standards.
  • Adheres to enterprise Project Management practices by participating in formal and informal training; tracking and reporting key metrics (e.g., deliverables, financials, duration, benefits) as appropriate; gathering, maintaining, and communicating lessons learned and feedback to project teams, leadership, and the larger project management community.

COMPENSATION:

  • $100,000 - $130,000 annually

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervision of additional IT team resources to be determined.
  • Assures the completion of supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

TRAVEL

  • Up to 25% of travel between locations - as need requires

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college in Business Administration or related field.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or working towards is strongly desired
  • At least 8 years of experience managing complex cross-functional projects of various degrees in a business setting
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience managing complex customer requirements across all aspects of cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Solution orientation with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks at the company-wide level.
  • Proven experience with various development and project management methodologies (e.g. lean, waterfall, agile, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to business
  • Proficiency with using project management software tools such as SmartSheet, Domo, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint with experience presenting to stakeholders and/or executive leadership.
  • Experience working in a health care related field

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and instructions. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to clearly explain instructions in both written and oral media.

Mathematical Skills

Basic mathematic ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Use of MS Excel to aid in mathematical work.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to read instructional bulletins and/or participate in training sessions then translate information provided into day-to-day work duties. Must be able to make sound decisions to support employees and consumers in a calm and timely manner. Must be able to interact with employees, outside agencies, external sources, and internal departments on a daily basis in a way that supports the company's mission and enhances the delivery and quality of services
