Job Description
Database Administrator needed for a 6-month contract to hire opportunity with SOC's client to work remote.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join a team of DBAs responsible for managing our client's SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB and Oracle database systems. You will be required to install and maintain database software, create and administer databases including and not limited to -- performance tuning, storage management, backup and recovery, database security, operational and application support. Along with the rest of the database team on rotation database 7x24 on-call support duties.
The incumbent should have extensive experience with DBA front-end and back-end tools, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in all aspects of SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL database support management.

Qualifications
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience with bachelor's degree in technology, computer science, or related field. However, four (4) additional years of experience maybe considered, in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven work experience as a Database administrator
  • Proficient in SQL Server database architecture, coding, and documentation
  • Some experience with either Oracle, MySQL or MariaDB highly desired
  • Experience supporting of non-relational database environments (MongoDB, Snowflakes...) a plus
  • Experience working in the Azure cloud operational environment a plus.
  • Experience with SQL, PLSQL, shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Certification in SQL Server and/or Oracle database administration a plus
  • Must be able to pass the California Department of Justice and FBI background check process
