The Human Factors Engineer(HFE)will directly support client delivery with a focus on demonstrating value and impact delivered. A Human Factors Engineer (HFE) possesses a profound understanding of research and healthcare industry trends, applying this knowledge to devise strategies, evaluations, and designs for assessing applications and processes. Strong communication skills are essential for conveying human factor issues clearly during live demos, to multidisciplinary engineering teams, and to end users. The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in applicable standards, HFE methods, dissemination options, as well as proficiency in SAFe's Lean Agile principles and practices to drive operational excellence and organizational change.

Type of Employment: Full time. Positions are contingent upon award and funding (expected quarter 2, 2024)

Work Location/Travel: Primarily virtual, however applicants should be unencumbered from any travel restrictions.

Pay: There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies aligning to the posted role, geographic location, education, and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this role is $106,210 - $162,320. Full time roles enjoy the benefits of additional financial incentives such as discretionary bonuses, a very generous 401K matching, and full benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the organization.
  • Conduct user research and evaluations to inform product and process improvements.
  • Analyze user feedback and behavioral observations to drive iterative design improvements.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations during live demo calls and user sessions.
  • Contribute to health system transformation and innovation through strategic planning, business process reengineering, and executive support.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and product management teams to integrate human factors considerations into all phases of product development.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of healthcare industry
  • Project management experience preferred

Required Education/Certification:

  • Doctorate in healthcare, IT, or business field
  • Ability to pass government background checks

Experience:

  • A minimum of 12 years' experience supporting healthcare related projects
  • Strong understanding of system integration points and dependencies relevant to human factors
  • Experience applying SAFe, Agile, and/or Lean methodologies
  • Working knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, DICOM)
  • Leadership record in building multidisciplinary teams and working with stakeholders to design, develop, and implement product solutions.
  • Government experience highly desired, but not required.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office 365 skills to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Experienced in a variety of applicable healthcare system platforms.
