Position Summary

Odyssey is looking for a Medical Microbiology Technologist III to support the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Multi-drug resistant organism Repository and Surveillance Network (MRSN) by providing in real-time surveillance of Multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria and outbreak investigation assistance across the entire Military Healthcare System (MHS).

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Comprehensive knowledge and experience in performing clinical microbiology including identification and antibiotic susceptibility tests.
  • Ability to performs routine and specialized procedures, reviews, and approves clinical test results for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients using the clinical microbiology instruments. Capable of performing several tests at the same time.
  • Ability to have comprehensive knowledge and ability to resolve difficult or complex problems and train staff.
  • Ability to assist in laboratory Quality Assurance and Improvement Program.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: NACI (able to obtain)

Education: BS in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or in a related science (e.g., laboratory science such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, immunology, etc.)

Years' experience: 5 years of experience

Accredidations: Medical Technologist (MT)/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)/Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certificationby the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA), or American Medical Technologists (AMT).

Additional Information:

Location: Available onsite at WRAIR, TAMC, BAMC, and LRMC, Germany 100% of the time

Travel: 25%

Remote, Onsite, or Hybrid: Onsite
